LL.M. in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice

Crime, criminal justice and criminology are intricate subjects of study intertwined within a societal set-up. The study of crime and its treatment within the community is ever evolving, with universal concepts applied on newer modes of criminal conduct. The advancement of technological platforms and cross-border engagements have given newer meaning to crime and criminal activities and poses challenges of its own. 
The LL.M. in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice is a unique programme that attempts to peak into the minds of the offenders, the developing notions of crime and the consequential reformative measures framed by national and international legal systems. It delves into the retributive and reformative ideologies in criminal law and addresses the global challenges on terrorism and human rights. The programme creates an interesting legal pedagogy to study the intricacies of pre-trial, trial and post-trial stages in criminal law and investigates the nuances of substantive and procedural law around crimes and criminal conduct. The expert faculty instructors blend the areas of theory and practice in their teaching to enable a holistic application of knowledge, enriching the students’ careers ahead.
 

The admission process for the LL.M. programme comprises two steps. Firstly, candidates need to appear for one of the following entrance examinations, which carries a weightage of 70% in the admission process:

CLAT PG Entrance Test

Once registered, candidates must submit their Statement of Purpose, Academic documents and Curriculum Vitae online at https://lawadmissions.jgu.edu.in/

All admissions to JGU’s academic programmes are conducted strictly on merit. JGU has no management quota, no donation/capitation seats, no NRI/Foreign National quota, and no special quota of any kind.

Paying or offering any form of donation or capitation fee for admission to JGU is illegal, and individuals involved in such activities are liable for criminal prosecution.

Fee Structure 2026-2027

Important Note regarding the Registration Fee of INR 2,50,000 paid at the time of admission:

1. This amount will be adjusted towards the total fee payable and will be counted as the fees paid for the first semester;
2. Failure to pay this fee will result in the offer being withdrawn by the University;
3. This registration amount will be refunded, in accordance with the University Refund Policy, in case you decide at a later stage not to join this degree programme. Please go through the refund policy attached.

First Semester Fee:

Note: The Security Deposit shall be fully refunded after a student completes his/her studies and / or secures a ‘No Dues Certificate’ as per the University rules. The security deposit shall not carry any interest.

How to Pay Fees

1. No payments will be accepted through cash. Payments should be made by the dates given in the Offer Letter via the JGU Payment Gateway, which can be accessed through the following link https://payanyfee.com/jgu/admission/payfee
2. We encourage you to use the medium of Net Banking for making fee payments in the above link.

*Important Notes -

• Academic year denotes the period starting with the academic session i.e. 1st August and ending with the examination or start of vacations during both the semesters failing within that academic year.
• O.P. Jindal Global University serves only vegetarian food in its dining halls on campus. Non-vegetarian food is available on a payment basis from the University Food Village.
• Students are provided with shared accommodation in the Residence Hall/ Student Housing.
• JGU Follows a car-free policy inside the campus for parents and students.
