Abhipsa Upasana Dash is a distinguished legal scholar and practitioner specializing in international arbitration, trade law, and immigration law. With an impressive academic background, she has cultivated expertise through multifaceted legal practice, research initiatives, and teaching roles at globally recognized institutions. Prior to joining JGLS, she worked at Corporate and International Immigration law firms based in Dallas, Miami, and Washington, D.C., as head of legal consultation. She has also extensively worked with the US Homeland Security and USCIS on asylum and Immigration matters.
Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), Prof. Dash brings a dynamic pedagogical approach, offering specialized instruction in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Mediation and Conciliation, International Trade Law, Cross-Border Trade, Law of Torts, Moot Court, and Trial Advocacy. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she is also the Assistant Dean for Examinations and Assessment of JGLS. She served as Assistant Director of the Moot Court Society and Faculty Head of Social Media initiatives. She is also a Senior Research Associate at the Center of Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR).
Professor Dash holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration from Penn State Law (full scholarship), The Pennsylvania State University, where she was awarded a full scholarship. During her time at Penn State, she was the research assistant to Professor Tiyanjana Maluwa, legal adviser to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and International Jury of the Stockholm Prize in Criminology. She also represented the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and contributed to legal advocacy efforts as a Student Advocate at the Veterans and Service Members Clinic. Her academic excellence and commitment to legal education were further strengthened by her selection for the prestigious Diploma Course on Private International Law at The Hague Academy of International Law (full scholarship), where she engaged with Eurojust and the Hague Conference on Private International Law.
