Biography

Dr Anushka Agarwal is an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University. She completed her PhD in the Finance area at the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, as a UGC-NET JRF-sponsored research scholar. Her doctoral thesis, "Impact of Foreign Promoters on Corporate Investment Behaviour in India," examined how foreign controlling shareholders shape investment decisions, risk-taking, and firm behaviour in Indian listed companies. She holds an M.Com. with a specialisation in finance from the Department of Commerce, University of Delhi (2019), and a B.Com. (Hons.) from Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi (2017).

Her research lies at the intersection of corporate finance and corporate governance, with a focus on ownership structure, corporate investment, risk-taking behaviour, and agency problems in emerging markets. Her work has been published in the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money and the Journal of Multinational Financial Management. She has presented her research at international forums including the FMA Asia/Pacific Conference in Melbourne and Seoul, the Southwestern Finance Association Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, the Asian Finance Association Annual Meeting in Ho Chi Minh City, and the FMA Annual Meeting in Atlanta, and has chaired a session at the FMA Asia/Pacific Conference.

At JGLS, she teaches Corporate Finance, Business Psychology and Organisational Behaviour, and Economics, and also performs the role of the Assistant Dean in the Scholarship Committee.
