Biography

Dr Arnab Bose is Associate Professor at Jindal Global Law School, O. P. Jindal Global University, and Senior Fellow at the Centre for the Study of the United Nations. His teaching and research lie at the intersection of finance, technology governance, and inclusive institutional design. His current work focuses in particular on artificial intelligence ethics, the rights of sentient beings, and the institutional dimensions of inclusion across human and non-human worlds.

He is currently chief editor of Inclusion and Institutions, an interdisciplinary volume that examines one of the defining questions of contemporary governance: who counts as a subject of justice, and on what grounds? The project explores how institutions respond to sentience, suffering, and moral standing across persons, non-human animals, ecosystems, and artificial intelligence, reimagining inclusion as central to dignity, justice, and sustainable futures.

Before entering academia, Dr Bose worked in banking, sustainability, and public policy. He served as Assistant Vice President (Responsible Banking) at YES Bank and as Associate Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, where he worked on consultancy and research projects relating to resilience, climate finance, renewable energy, and local governance.

Dr Bose holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Amsterdam. His doctoral research, Smart Governance of the Built Environment, examined resilience in the urban agglomerations of Delhi and Berlin. His broader research interests include sustainability finance, urban resilience, institutional economics, and inclusive governance.
