Biography

Dr. Chisom L. Ubabukoh is an Associate Professor of Economics at Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University, India. He holds a B.Tech. in Agricultural Economics from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (Nigeria), an MSc with Distinction in Development Economics and Policy, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom.

Before joining JGU, he taught economics at the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, and the Global Development Institute (GDI). Beyond academia, he has worked with government institutions and international development organisations, including Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Agriculture, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and consulted for the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the Overseas Development Institute (ODI), the World Bank, and the African Development Bank (AfDB).

Dr. Ubabukoh's research spans development economics, labour economics, international trade, and institutional economics, with a particular focus on poverty, employment dynamics, food security, governance, structural transformation, agricultural development, and India–Africa economic relations. His work seeks to generate rigorous, policy-relevant evidence that advances inclusive and sustainable development. His research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, presented at international conferences, and recognised for its contribution to understanding the economic challenges facing developing countries. He also serves as a reviewer for several international academic journals and is committed to translating complex economic ideas into practical insights for students, policymakers, and interdisciplinary audiences.
