Biography

Dr. Chandra Bhanu is a historian of Modern India and his specific research interests are Dalit liberation movements, agrarian issues, the left politics, democracy in twentieth century India. He is also interested in global histories, particularly comparing caste in India and race in North America. He completed his M.A. and M.Phil. at Department of History, University of Hyderabad. He will be soon awarded with Ph.D. from George August Universität Göttingen, Germany. He was a research fellow for three years at Centre for Modern Indian Studies, George August Universität Göttingen, Göttingen. Before that, he also taught history for pre-graduate students in Andhra Pradesh.

2016: Centre for Modern Indian Studies, George August Universität Göttingen awarded a three-year fellowship that allowed me to pursue my Ph.D. 

2017: Graduate School of Humanities, George August Universität Göttingen awarded a grant to conduct a long-term (10 months) research trip to India.
