Biography

Esha Rana is an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University. Her teaching and research lie at the intersection of environmental law, climate change law and policy, biodiversity conservation, environmental governance, and administrative law. She adopts an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented approach to legal education, drawing upon her experience in academia, environmental litigation, and public policy research.

Before joining Jindal Global Law School, Esha was Senior Resident Fellow (Climate and Ecosystems) at Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, where she led research on environmental governance, with a focus on human-wildlife conflict compensation frameworks, invasive alien species regulation, and wildlife conservation outside protected areas. She also designed and delivered capacity-building programmes on environmental protection laws for government officials, collaborated with civil society organisations to strengthen environmental governance, and produced policy reports and legal analyses to support evidence-based law and policymaking.

At Jindal Global Law School, Esha teaches Environmental Law, Administrative Law, Drafting, Pleadings and Conveyancing, and Environmental Security.

Esha holds an LL.M. in Environmental Law and Sustainable Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and a B.A. LL.B. Her scholarship explores environmental governance, climate law, biodiversity conservation, environmental justice, and the role of legal institutions in advancing sustainable development.
