Biography

Gargi Tyagi is Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University, where she teaches Family Law and Criminal Law. She holds an LL.M. in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice from the University of Edinburgh and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. Her research interests include family law, gender justice, women’s property and inheritance rights, customary legal systems, and the impact of digitisation on land governance.

Before entering academia, she gained practical legal experience by appearing before different courts and engaging with a range of legal matters. Her academic work adopts a socio-legal and interdisciplinary approach, with particular attention to the relationship between formal law, customary practices, technology, and the lived experiences of women. She is an avid sports lover and has represented school and college on many levels in badminton and lawn tennis
