Biography

Ananya Agarwal is a Lecturer at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), O.P. Jindal Global University. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Corporate and Commercial Law from Queen Mary University of London (2022), where she was awarded the PG Law Scholarship in recognition of her academic merit. She completed her undergraduate studies in law from Galgotias University, Greater Noida, in 2019.

During her LL.M. programme at Queen Mary University of London, she wrote her dissertation titled “Analysis of Special Purpose Acquisition Company Development and Policies with Respect to the UK and USA and its Emergence in India.” Her research examined the evolving regulatory framework governing Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) in leading jurisdictions and assessed their potential relevance within the Indian corporate and securities law landscape.

At Jindal Global Law School, she is also associated with the editorial team of the Jindal Global Law Review as an Assistant Editor. Her teaching and research interests lie in the broad field of commercial law, with a particular focus on securities regulation, insolvency law, mergers and acquisitions and financial market regulation.

Prior to joining JGLS, she has also worked with a boutique law firm in the United Kingdom, where she advised domestic and international clients on a range of commercial law matters and conveyancing transactions. Her professional experience in legal practice complements her academic engagement with contemporary developments in corporate and commercial law. 

Ananya's current research focuses on securities regulation, insolvency and restructuring frameworks, and emerging developments in financial and commercial law. Through her research and teaching, she seeks to contribute to scholarly and policy discussions on the regulation of modern business enterprises and capital markets.
