Jennifer Cherian is a Lecturer at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), O.P. Jindal Global University. She completed her LL.M. in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice at the University of Edinburgh and holds a B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) from CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru.
Her teaching and research interests are centred on criminal law, criminal justice and evidence law. She enjoys creating an interactive classroom environment that encourages students to think critically. Her approach to teaching combines doctrinal learning with real-world applications, helping students connect legal theory with practice.
She also designed and developed the Crime Prevention and Detection course for the Criminology programme at JGLS and was the first faculty member to teach it. The course integrates criminological theory with practical perspectives on crime prevention, policing, investigation and emerging challenges in the criminal justice system.
Alongside teaching, Jennifer has actively contributed to academic administration at JGLS, having served in roles including Assistant Dean for Independent Research Projects and Assistant Dean for Attendance. Through these roles, she has worked closely with faculty and students to streamline academic processes, strengthen research administration and support the delivery of high-quality legal education.
Jennifer is particularly interested in criminal justice reform, policing, evidence and the evolving relationship between law, society and technology. She is passionate about mentoring students, encouraging thoughtful legal scholarship and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
