Biography

Dr. Dhuniraj Chettri is a clinician, researcher, and educator specializing in neurodevelopmental disorders, with a particular focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal School of Behavioural Sciences, O.P. Jindal Global University, and received his doctoral degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.

His Ph.D. research aimed to develop a comprehensive model to explain the heterogeneity of symptoms across the autism spectrum. Drawing on predictive coding and Empathizing-Systemizing theory, his work helps explain why autism looks so different from one individual to the next. He has presented his research at international conferences, including the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR) Annual Meeting and the International Congress of Psychology (ICP).

Dr. Chettri holds an M.Phil. in Rehabilitation Psychology from the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID), Secunderabad, and is a Rehabilitation Psychologist licensed by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). He later served as a Lecturer in Rehabilitation Psychology at NIEPID, where, as both clinician and faculty member, he coordinated several projects and outreach programmes under the aegis of the institute. He also worked as a Senior Psychologist and Behaviour Therapist at the Pushpa Khanna Memorial Centre (PKMC), Kanpur, gaining extensive hands-on experience in assessment and behavioural intervention for children with ASD, ADHD, and intellectual disability.

His work seeks to connect theoretical models of neurodevelopmental conditions with the practical realities of assessment, intervention, and support for individuals and their families.
